Metro invites you and your organization to participate in the Complete Streets Policy Development workshop on Wednesday, February 12, 2014.  A Complete Streets approach views all transportation improvements as opportunities to create safe, more accessible streets for all users, including public transit users, pedestrians, bicyclists, children, persons with disabilities, seniors, motorists, and movers of commercial goods. This policy is intended to help advance state, regional and local efforts to create a more “complete” and integrated transportation network for all modes of travel in LA County. The Workshop is designed for:  Planners, engineers, traffic safety professionals, public health and injury prevention professionals, advocates, transit riders, transit operators, school districts, non-profit organizations, and policy makers.

Hosted by Metro, the workshop will:

  • Gather input to inform the development of Metro’s Complete Streets Policy
  • Explore how Metro can help facilitate improved coordination and network integration across agencies, jurisdictions, and modes
  • Inform participants about federal policies and state laws related to Complete Streets
  • Discuss ways in which Complete Streets policies are being implemented in LA County, including accommodation of transit operations in a Complete Streets context
