Metro’s objective for the the active transportation allocation is to increase mobility and decrease congestion through integrated strategies, such as transit options, active transportation, capital investments and transportation demand management. The active transportation allocation demonstrates the importance of adopting a multi-modalism approach to transportation investments and countywide policies because active transportation policies will be essential to advancing Metro’s Metro’s Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) and Countywide Sustainability Planning Policy. This as a key opportunity to expand transportation options, improve safety and access of active transportation and address air quality/environment in these corridors. It is exciting to see countywide policy in action and go forward to implementation!
